Coventry City defender Richard Keogh has said he is very proud to be wearing the captain’s armband.

Keogh was made captain due to the toe injury for Sammy Clingan and Keogh told Sky Blue Player: "It is massive for me and like I said before, I am very proud that the manager has trusted me with the captaincy and I hope I can live up to it.

"I would like to thank him (Andy Thorn) for that and with Sammy (Clingan) doing a great job before, I am sure he will come back into the role but I am happy to have it at the moment.

"It is obviously nice to know for the club and the fans that if he isn't there and out injured, then I can step in and do that role."
