KCIC's Plan To Tell The World Of City's Plight

Last updated : 22 January 2014 By KCIC

For those of us old enough to have been at Sutton in '89 we know FA Cup upsets happen so why not on Friday - a couple of Moussa specials would do very nicely!

Friday is also a great chance to highlight our plight.

The plan is dead simple

-    We have,
thanks to the incredible efforts of fellow Coventry City fans, over 5,000 signs on double sided sheets which on one side say 'WHY? (meaning why has the mess we're in been allowed to happen, and why aren't we playing in Coventry where we belong?) and on the other side 'WHEN?' (meaning when will this madness end and we return to our home?)

-    A group of City fans will hand out the signs by the turnstiles going into the Emirates stadium

-    When the stadium clock shows 35:00 minutes please hold up the side of the sign that says ‘WHY’ and sing: ‘I wanna go home, I wanna go home, Back to the Ricoh, the Ricoh’s our home’ (the reason for 35:00 minutes is to highlight we’re playing 35 miles from home).

-    When the stadium clock shows 61:00 minutes please hold up the side of the sign that says 'WHEN?' and sing the Sky Blue song (the link is Jimmy Hill became manager in 1961 and wrote the Sky Blue song containing the lines 'Let's all sing together' and ‘We’ll fight till the game is won’ which is what fans need do to get us back to Coventry.

BTsport and the media in general are being briefed so they understand and can explain what's going on.

Arsenal fans are being really helpful - have a look at http://www.onlinearsenal.com/content.php?300-Arsenal-vs-Coventry-More-than-a-game-for-Sky-Blues and http://redaction.org.uk/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=510&catid=75&Itemid=91

Another idea is for those on twitter is to see if once the game kicks offs we can get #KeepCovInCov trending

So a Cup upset and the chance to tell the world our home is Coventry - let's go for it!
