KCIC: Stakes Are Too High For Just A Phone Call

The Keep Cov In Cov campaign group which has tabled an offer to try and get Coventry City back playing at the Ricoh Arena has been told that SISU will only speak to them in a phone.

The group had wanted a meeting or an email conversation at the least with the owners of Coventry City to explain their offer to pay the rent and associated match day costs for three years.

However, the group has now been told that it will be a telephone call only.

Michael Orton from the KCIC Campaign group said: "With the combination of England and this will we meet/won't meet mini saga my early morning optimism has disappeared.

"Have repeatedly said we'd be delighted to meet to discuss and offered dates etc but just being knocked back with 'telephone call only'.

"It's actually a really sad indictment of the situation. I can't think of another situation in my entire life when I wouldn't be more than happy to discuss things over the phone but there are several people involved in this and... previous 'confusion' 'misunderstanding' 'quoted out of context' etc has left people feeling once bitten twice shy so to speak.

"I'm calling it a day. If SISU want to meet to discuss they know how to contact me. If they want to respond to the offer by email that would be fine too. But the stakes are just too high for this to descend into who said what etc etc etc in a phone call."
