Former Coventry City midfielder Claus Jorgensen is having a trial at Cheltenham Town.

The 33 year old, who scored the first ever goal at the Ricoh Arena, had been at Port Vale at the start of this season on a non-contract basis after his contract at Blackpool was not renewed.

This didn't work out and the Faroe Island international joined Fleetwood Town before coming to the attention of Cheltenham boss Jon Schofield.

"Claus is training with us at the minute," said Schofield to Cheltenham's official club website. "He's a lad who hasn't played in a while but he lives relatively locally and we've done our homework and are having a look at him.

"He is looking to get back into League football and has kept himself very fit. It's a two way street at the moment because he needs somewhere to train. If Claus is happy with what he sees from us and if we are happy with what we see there may be a chance he could stay around a bit longer."
