Former Coventry City short term player Jordan Stewart has joined MLS side San Jose Earthquakes.

Stewart, who joined City on a short term contract last season and ended up playing more U21 games than first team games after being sent off at Walsall, was told that he was not being offered a new deal by Steven Pressley.

Now, the 31 year old who has played for the likes of Leicester, Watford, Millwall and Notts County, has signed an undisclosed deal with the MLS side subject to being granted a work permit.

“We’re very excited to add Jordan to our squad,” said Earthquakes interim head coach Mark Watson to his team's website. “He came and trained with us last year and did very well. He brings a lot of experience at the highest level of soccer and he will be an excellent addition the club.”
