The youngster had featured in the first two games but was omitted from the final game which gives England a clean sweep of victories in Slovenia and a place in the Elite stage of the European U19 Championship.
The England team fly home tonight and Clarke will try and win a place in the City squad which travels to Sheffield Wednesday on Saturday.
