Jones The Ref For City V Preston

The currently appointed referee for Coventry City's League One fixture against Preston North End is Michael Jones from Chester.

One of the most experienced referees in the game, the 44 year old started refereeing aged 15 after being left out of school sides.

He was promoted to the Football League list of Referees in 1997 and the Premier League Select Group in 2008.

His last City match was the 6-1 League Cup defeat at Arsenal back in September. This season, he has had fifteen games (one in League One - Sheffield United V Stevange) and shown 46 yellows and one red card.
