Johnson Hoping He Is In Charge For Trip To Coventry

Barnsley Boss Lee Johnson is hoping that he is in charge of the Tykes side which travels to Coventry City tomorrow night.

Johnson is under pressure after his side lost for the sixth successive time at Scunthorpe United on Saturday but Johnson said to the Scunthorpe Telegraph: “I hope I get the opportunity to carry on. I’m up for it – that’s a certainty. I’ve never quit anything in my life. I would never do that.

“For me it’s a really poor run of form and we have to go back and look at why this has happened, right back to the summer, and judge from there.

“It’s important we get it right, but we can turn it around. With our best 11 we are competitive in the top half of division. Obviously we’ve got to start winning games, but it’s not at the do or die stage yet.”
