According to the Sun newspaper, Stern John has hit out at Birmingham Chairman David Sullivan for not defending Dwight Yorke who was racially abused at Blackburn Rovers on Sunday.

Sullivan is alleged to have said: “I know it is not very PC but it was not the crime of the century. To me, it’s been blown out of all proportion.”

Stern John lept to the defence of his fellow Trindadian saying: "You have to question whether there is a place in the game for someone who says something like that."

Meanwhile Calum Davenport made his first appearance for Tottenham in a 1-0 defeat at Aston Villa last night.
