Coventry made me a new offer but the offer was quite a way apart from what I am looking for and I didn't sign," he told the Evening Telegraph.
"I know I have to take a cut and I am willing to take a substantial drop in wages, but the offer was simply too low.
"I will certainly be disappointed to leave the club, especially after having such a good season once I was fully fit.
"It is a difficult situation and still early doors, but it looks as if I will be playing somewhere else next season."
