Jeffers Could Feature

Shaun Jeffers could feature for Coventry City this afternoon in their Championship clash against Preston North End.

The Bedford born striker, who scored for City U18's on Tuesday against Leicester and netted over twenty goals for them last term, is in line for a starting role due to injuries to Freddie Sears and Freddy Eastwood.

Speaking to the CT, City manager Chris Coleman said: "Shaun has done well and might have a chance. Ideally, we would like some points on the board so I could play two or three young lads in the last couple of games if we had nothing at stake.

"But we still have something to play for and with Freddie Sears and Freddy Eastwood struggling and Jon Stead gone, we might look to Shaun.

"Young players can burst on the scene before having a lull in their development and then coming back again but he has got some good attributes - he's got pace, moves well and makes good runs down the side of defenders.

"He has to show a little more composure in front of goal, he has a tendancy to raise his head as he strikes the ball and hit a lot of shots over the bar. He's like a golfer in that he'll hit a shot and then look to see where it has gone but he has done ok.

"I don't really see him as a boy anymore, he's a young man and he has benefited from training with the first team this season."
