Loanee Gary Madine says he has settled in at Coventry City.

The striker has only featured in a brief cameo role against West Brom plus two reserve team outings but he told the Cumberland News Group that he had settled into life with the Sky Blues following his loan from Carlisle United.

Madine said: “I have settled in well at Coventry and I love it here.

“I am getting on well with a lot of the lads and I am close to Michael McIndoe, who is keeping an eye on me.

“The move came about very quickly and I am looking forward to stepping up and hopefully showing what I can do.

“I would like to impress the manager during my three-month loan and hopefully earn a contract.

“I think the gaffer sees me as one for the future and maybe not one to go straight in.

“I had a little taste of it when I went on against West Brom for the last few minutes, although I admit I was a bag of nerves.

“My game is just about keeping things simple. I generally take one touch and then pass it, try to win my headers and get into the box and score some goals.”
