it's Been Difficult At Home - Mowbray

Coventry City manager Tony Mowbray has admitted that it has been difficult playing at the Ricoh Arena in front of low crowds.

Many supporters have stayed away from City home matches this season for a wide variety of reasons including; the standard football on offer, the quality of the opposition, the prices, the lack of value for  families, the affect of Wasps, the good quality of instant information from twitter, the club's own Wall and local newspaper output, social media etc, local radio commentaries, the associated costs and hassles of getting to the Ricoh Arena, the inaccesibility of the main ticket office or getting through to the ticket office, and gates have been well down on what would have been expected for a club of City's size.

Speaking to the Coventry Telegraph's Andy Turner, Tony Mowbray said: “It’s always important that supporters are supportive of their team and yet we’ve had a very frustrating time, I have to say, particularly for the home supporters this season.

“Contrary to that the away fans have seen some good games over recent weeks and been very vocal and supportive of the team. It’s been difficult at home with a huge stadium and 8-9,000 fans and it’s been a difficult atmosphere.

“Let’s see if the "Kids For A Quid" ticket promotion makes any difference but bottom line it’s not going to fill the stadium up. But if there’s a few more then hopefully it will benefit us.”
