Speaking to the Press Association after the game, Davies said: "I've got to explain and what I'm very guilty of is answering questions honestly.
"I'm trying to move the club forward and get it into the Premier League. We've showed naivety all season and we showed it again in the goal we conceded.
"We shoot ourselves in the foot. We dominated the first half-hour and then concede from our own throw-in.
"But after that it was an excellent battling performance and a great three points.
"I'm glad Neil Warnock is coming on Saturday. He gets more publicity than me and handles it well and it should be a good game."
