It Means Nothing Because We Have Lost - McDonald

Gillingham forward Cody McDonald said that scoring in the 2-1 defeat to his former club - Coventry City meant nothing as Gillingham had lost the match.

McDonald put the Gills level in the ninth minute after Leon Clarke had given the Sky Blues a 56 second lead. However, with just over eight minutes remaining, Franck Moussa scored to give Coventry a 2-1 win and lift them to 20th in the League One table.

Speaking to Gillingham's website, McDonald said: "The lads are gutted in there. We've worked hard. We came with a game plan for 80 minutes it worked.

"There's a great bunch of lads in there. We don't deserve to be where we are but our luck will turn."

McDonald joined Gillingham from City at the start of the season and said:  "Coventry fans were great when I was here. It's nice to score against my old team but it means nothing cause we lost."
