Is Westwood Being Forced Out?

Contacts at Newcastle United have denied reports of interest in Coventry City keeper Keiren Westwood.

Rumours of a £4m bid were made in the News of The World but they have been denied on Tyneside and now Everton are also denying any interest in the keeper who joined City from Carlisle United in the summer.

Although, highly rated by Chris Coleman, the City boss said on Saturday that every player has his price and that he had had no contact from Spurs boss Harry Redknapp.

With apparently no interest in the keeper from the PL Clubs, questions are being asked as to why these rumours have come about.

Is it due to Westwood's agent trying to cash in or is it allegedly like the Elliott Ward to Norwich saga, where Coventry City were blamed for trying to off-load one of their higher wage earners?

We don't know, City say they don't want Keiren to go but the longer Westwood stays a Coventry City keeper, the happier the City support will be, regardless of whatever cash crisis there may or may not be behind the scenes.
