Born in Leeds on October 26th 1982, Folan has played for Rushden & Diamonds, Chesterfield where he made 110 appearances, Wigan Athletic (10 starts) before making his Hull debut in 2007.
He has had 24 starts plus 29 sub appearances for the Tigers, scored ten goals and been sent off twice.
He beat Leon Best to a start for the Republic Of Ireland's last match against Bulgaria.
