Coventry City 's Australian goal keeper Danny Ireland, currently on loan to Forest Green Rovers of the Blue Square Premier League suffered a bad cut to his lip  in their dramatic 4-3 win over Altringham last Saturday and is a doubt for tonight's clash with Barrow.

The cut required hospital treatment and stitches. Forest Green Rovers manager Dave Hockaday said, "Danny was rushed to hospital on Saturday for stitches and he basically has three lips, it was a really nasty one."

"He is being assessed by Coventry and we will do whatever they say. He's their player and we're very grateful to them for letting us have him."

Ireland received the cut on Saturday, when he bravely made a vital late save to help Rovers to an epic 4-3 victory.

Rovers were losing 3-1 at half time, but  came back strongly in the second period to grab a 4-3 win.

Rovers take on Barrow tonight (Wednesday) chasing their fourth successive win. Ireland has played a large part in the good run of form, but parent club Coventry will have the final say on when the 21-year-old returns to action.
