Injury problems for Pressley

Steven Pressley will have to deal with a mixed bag of injuries when he selcts his team to play Brentford on Sunday.

One piece of good news is Leon Clarke, who left Port Vale on crutches and with a temporary cast on his foot, returned to training yesterday and may be fit to be selected on Sunday.

Billy Daniels (pictured below) could be out of action for a month after picking up a hip injury and to compound the problem for Pressley, Carl Baker, who had been keeping Daniels out of the starting eleven, has a calf strain and may not be sufficiently recovered in time for Sunday's game.

Another midfielder Adam Barton (Pictured below), who has missed several games though injury, was forced to miss out on training as he continues to receive treatment for his knee injury.

Pressley told the Coventry Telegraph:“Leon’s OK, he left the ground in a protective boot on Saturday after taking quite a knock to his foot and a bit of bruising but he’s back in training, so he’s fine, but we have a couple of concerns. Billy Daniels will miss the next three to four weeks with a slight hip flexor injury that requires treatment. He went for a scan last week and he needs a bit of physio on that to sort it out.

“It’s a real shame for Billy after working so hard and doing well when he got his opportunity.

“Carl maybe doubtful for the weekend but we’re not sure yet. He’s got a sore calf from the weekend and didn’t train yesterday, but we’ll assess him later in the week.”

Pressley said: “Adam is resting this week but hopefully he’ll be fine by Friday/Saturday, so we’re a wee bit thin on the ground in midfield at the moment.”
