Ben Turner is still waiting to make his Cardiff City debut after joining the South Wales based side from Coventry City last month.

Turner signed on Transfer Deadline Day for £750,000 and was due to have featured against Leicester City in Cardiff's League Cup tie last week.

However, he tweaked a groin in training and missed the cup victory and the 0-0 draw between the two sides yesterday.

Cardiff boss Malky McKay told Terry Phillips of the South Wales Echo:

“It’s no more than a tweak. “He blocked a shot and opened the groin slightly.

“He was going to be involved against Leicester in the Carling Cup and has been ahead of schedule, but we won’t take any risk, no matter how small.

“It’s nothing major, but we will see how it is for a week or so. It’s not something the medics are unduly concerned about long-term, but we have to be careful.”
