Injuries To Doyle And Burge

Coventry City manager Mark Robins has been talking to the injuries to Michael Doyle and Lee Burge.

Robins, who has also had to deal with a virus amongst his players, said: “He’s injured. He played with a knee injury at Forest Green last week, having got the injury against MK Dons and he has secumbed to that.

“So he’s going to be missing for a little while.

“I think on the back of that we had Tom Bayliss who has been ill all week, McNulty who has lost four and a half kilos through illness and Jack Grimmer is injured and Dion has had to be rushed back because he’s the only fit right-back. These aren’t excuses, they are things we need to overcome in a long season.

“There are times when people don’t want to get up and go to work. There are times when people might fancy missing training because it’s been a bit tough for them. But they need to get out, get to work and graft."

Speaking about Lee Burge, Robins commented: “He was injured. I sat him on the bench because I have got nothing else. He injured his knee in training the other day and needs an injection to train or play but they are dropping like flies at the minute and it’s that time of the season where we have got to try to overcome it."
