Coventry City Executive Vice Chairman and Managing Director Chris Anderson has said that the way City supporters have backed the team this season has given the club a change to be competitive in League One.

Writing in his programme note, Mr Anderson wrote: "The significant increase in attendances this year has given the club a chance to be competitive at the top of League One.

"As we've previously stated, due to the make up of our revenue streams at the football club, we're more heavily reliant on ticket sales than the vast majority of other Football League clubs.

"This means the increase in attendances and the way our supporters have backed the football club this season both home and away, has given us the chance to be competitive in the league.

"Myself, Tony Mowbray, Mark Venus, and everyone at the club could not be more thankful of your support and efforts this season."
