Inaccurate Highfield Road Sculpture Stays Put

The artwork on the site of Coventry City's former Highfield Road Stadium which features a number of inaccuracies will not be changed.

The artwork designed by Warwickshire artist David Dewis was meant to make references to the club's history at the stadium,  however, it includes a number of errors with the worst being a Singer sewing machine, when the club was in fact founded by workers from cycle manufacturers Singers.

According to the Coventry Telegraph's Duncan Gibbons, "Taylor Wimpey says it “would not be feasible” to change the blunders on a sculpture where Highfield Road used to stand.

Instead it wants to install a plaque next to the sculpture in a bid to explain the discrepancies."
