The Makem impressed again on Saturday against Birmingham City after coming on as a substitute and told BBC Coventry & Warwickshire: "I'm extending my contract here so hopefully we can get it sorted soon.
"I'm over the moon playing first-team football for Coventry City who are flying at the minute.
"The manager's a different class and they have a good chairman. "The lads are brilliant. There's a great team spirit amongst the group and I'm loving every minute."
