I'm Proud To Be A City Fan - Mokrzycki

Jan Mokrzycki, from The Sky Blue Trust, has said that he was proud to be a Coventry City supporter after the Trust's march from Gosford Green to Broadgate.

There was City supporters from Kent and Hampshire who marched side by side with those from Coventry and Warwickshire to show Coventry City's owners and employees that the only place for the Sky Blues is back in Coventry.

Speaking to Simon Gilbert of the Coventry Telegraph, Mr Mokrzycki said: “We think there are more people here than last year, around 6,000 to 7,000.

“Today I'm proud to be a Sky Blues fan. It is a great turnout and it is sending a powerful message to the powers that be.

“The support is still there and if the team comes back, so will the fans. The message has been quite clear, most will not travel to Northapton.

“There has been a lot of publicity ahead of the march, through The Trust and the Telegraph, and I think that has galvanised a few minds.

“Yesterday, we saw the club was willing to talk about rent and returning to the Ricoh Arena.

“That's a big step forward, and the statement had a much more positive message and less of the aggression that we have become used to – and that's what we want.

“We hope the message is more than a publicity stunt and that the owners mean it.

“The only two things that stand in the way now are the Football League and Sisu.

“The league needs to decide how much the club needs to pay ACL and Sisu needs to drop its pointless legal appeal so that talks can begin.”
