Coventry City defender Jordan Willis has said that he is comfortable at right back.

Willis, a product of City's Academy and a former CNS U18's Player Of The Year winner, has played a lot of his football in central defence but played against Shrewsbury at right back on Sunday and had a fine game.

He told the Coventry Telegraph's Andy Turner: “I feel comfortable at right-back. I’ve played a few games there as a youngster and the manager played me there in the development squad as a warm up.

If you can’t play in your normal position you’re just happy to play wherever the manager puts you. “That’s right-back at the minute and I’m happy to play there.

“If I continue to play there and get used to it, and more confident playing there, then you never know that could become my position in the future. At the minute I still see myself as a centre-back first and foremost.

“But it’s nice to be versatile because it gives the manager more options of where to play you.

“I just want to play as many games as possible and help the team get as many points as we can. That was always my aim at the start of the season.

“I have got about ten starts and come on eight times as a sub. I never really set myself a target but I feel I am improving every week. I turn up at training every day with the mentality to improve and I feel I’m doing that.

“But the real improvement is when you’re playing a game because that’s when you see if you have or not.”
