The midfielder, played at centre half on Saturday against QPR when Stephen Wright was sent off and told the CT: "I am happier there than I am at right-back.
"I knew I would go to centre-back when Wrighty went off because I told the gaffer before the last game when I played right-back that I can play centre-half better - I played there in Holland a few times for AZ's reserves.
"He wanted to use me at right-back on Saturday because of my legs and the fact that I can go forward. But I will do another job if I am needed to play at centre-back again.
