I'll Deal With Players Lack Of Confidence - Pressley

Coventry City manager Steven Pressley has said that he will take responsibility for installing confidence in City's younger players.

Pressley spoke after Tuesday's defeat to Oldham about players being low on confidence but told Alan Poole of the Coventry Telegraph: "It’s my job and my responsibility to instil confidence in the players, especially the younger ones.

“I’ve spoken to quite a lot of the lads this week because I care deeply about them and I want them to be the future of this club.

“There’s clearly a lack of belief but I said to them ‘let me take the heat, the pressure; you concentrate on delivering what you have to deliver – don’t concern yourself with any other aspects.

“That’s really important. In the modern day that’s a manager’s role and I take that responsibility.

“With young players it’s a balancing act but it’s part of the learning curve. Sometimes you don’t experience those difficult times in the Academy system but it’s all part of the development process because you can’t protect them all the time and ultimately that’s how you find out if they can do it.”
