If You're All Going To Watford

Coventry City supporters will be off to Vicarage Road next season after Watford's relegation to the Premiership was confirmed this afternoon. The Hornets needed a victory but could only manage a home draw against Manchester City.

Despite losing at Sheffield Wednesday,the Sky Blues will play Championship football next season thanks to Leeds losing 1-0 at Southampton. Leicester also look like they won't be joining Luton who were relegated last night at Derby after a late 1-0 win at Preston.

Barnsley also look safe following two goals from Cov kid Danny Nardiello saw off Palace. Southend are starting to need snookers to avoid the drop after a 2-1 defeat at Plymouth.

Leeds and Hull are contesting the third from bottom spot. Hull's 1-1 draw at Stoke keeps them fourth bottom and a point ahead of the Elland Road club with two to play.

At the other end of the table, leaders Sunderland are still top despite losing 3-1 at Sunderland. Only the Mackems,Derby and Birmngham can now contest the automatic places for promotion. Preston,Wolves and West Brom are in the other play-offs places with Southampton,Stoke,Colchester and Sheffield Wednesday,all with an outside chance.

In League One,Bristol City, Nottingham Forest and Blackpool all won.
Locally, Coventry Sphinx need a point to win the Midland Combination Premier Division after drawing 1-1 at Brereton Social, thanks to a goal from Wayne Pulford. Paul Charnley's side travel to Heath Hayes on Tuesday looking for the point after second placed Highgate United were beaten 2-1 at home by Barnt Green Spartak.

Nuneaton Borough won 1-0 at Barrow,Rugby Town beat Northwood 3-0 but Bedworth lost 3-1 at home to Aylesbury United.

Leamington passed the 100 points mark with a 1-0 win at Rocester. Fourth placed Stratford won 4-1 at Racing Club Warwick.

Coventry Copsewood did their hopes of staying in the Midland Combination a power of good with a 3-1 win at Allard Way against Feckenham. Southam beat Massey Ferguson 3-2 but Alveston who has asked to be relegated lost 3-0 at Pershore Town.

In the dress rehearsal for the Challenge Vase Final on May 7th,Coventry Sphinx Reserves beat Enville 2-0 in a League Two game. Warwick Town lost 5-1 at home to Wernley.
