The defender's loan spell ends after tomorrow's game with Blackpool and Barnett has said that he wants to stay at City.
"I am enjoying it here but I am not too sure what is going to happen," said Barnett to the CT's Andy Turner who has been awarded for his promotion of tennis in the local area.
"I want to sign and the gaffer has said in the paper he wants me to sign so it is down to the clubs to agree a fee.
"Either a loan or a permanent deal is fine by me. I just need to play games and help Coventry progress in the league. I think they are leaving it a bit late to be fair but that happens in football so hopefully, they can come to some arrangement."
