New Coventry City keeper Joe Murphy has revealed that he used to clean Andy Thorn's boots.
"I know the gaffer from our Tranmere days when I actually used to clean his boots as a YTS lad, so no-one had to sell Coventry City to me," said Murphy to the CT.
"I was a kid at fifteen or sixteen then and Andy was coming to the end of his career so I have known him for many years although we did not keep in touch.
"He was obviously scouting and he has obviously seen me quite a bit and that's hopefully why he has signed me which I am happy about.
"And when the call came there was only one decision and it was only a few hours and the papers were signed."
