I Try To Help Aaron As Much As Possible - Dave Phillips

Former Coventry City player David Phillips has said that he tries to help his son Aaron as much as possible.

“As an ex-pro I try to help him as much as possible,” Phillips said to the Coventry Telegraph's Andy Turner.

“He always asks me what I think of his performances and I ask him if he wants his dad’s view or a coach’s view, and he always says the latter. He always knows I won’t mince my words; that he’ll get the truth.

“He played for the Under-21s recently and I told him he needed to improve because it wasn’t good enough, and that was possibly why he got left out of the squad for a first-team game because a couple of his performances had been under par, and he knows that.

“But he went in and did extra training on days off and fair play to him he often goes in and works on things he wants to improve.”
