Marlon King has denied that he lied to Coventry City and said that he verbally agreed a three year contract not a two year deal.
Speaking to Sky Sports, King who completed his move to Birmingham City this afternoon said: "I am looking forward to a new chapter in my life and getting on with the season.
"I didn't turn my back on anybody. You would have to ask them that question. I verbally agreed a three-year contract, not a two-year contract.
"I don't want to get into a slanging match with people that gave me an opportunity to resurrect my career.
"I just want to wish them all the best and thank them for all that their support.
"I never lied to them and said I would be staying. Everything had to be right, and it wasn't.
"I am a Birmingham City player now and I am looking forward to playing for them."
