The midfielder now back to his best after his recent form and told the CT. "I love the fans here.
"They have stuck by me all the way through the last few weeks and I don't know how to thank them.
"I heard them cheering my name whenever I got back on the pitch and they lifted my confidence.
"If they had been booing me, I would have sunk even lower than I was, so they have helped me to come back to be honest, so I am really thankful for them for helping me do that."
He added: "I think what the gaffer did to me, to put me out of the team was really healthy for me.
"I needed that to give me a kick up the backside and start working again because no-one is able to rest in the team.
"This club has got better players now, even though we have a smaller squad, and no-one is guaranteed to be in the starting line-up."
