I Knew I Had To Do Better - Clarke

Coventry City Defender Jordan Clarke has revealed that being dropped has spurred him on.

“It’s a crazy game sometimes and one week you can be down and the next up.

“No-one wants to be giving away penalties or be at fault for goals, especially in the last couple of minutes and be responsible for losing a game, which is a horrible feeling.

“But if you have a strong character you try not to let it affect you too much.

"I knew that I had to do better and I told the gaffer that and he told me too and obviously I didn’t play the next game so it was a kick up the backside.

“I’ve worked hard in training and when the opportunity came again I tried to take it, starting at centre-back in the FA Cup game and against Crawley at left-back.

“I am playing two or three different positions at the minute and I have just got to be on my toes and adapt to what the gaffer wants me to do.

"But I take confidence from the fact that he trusts me to play anywhere across the back four and I want to keep repaying the faith he is showing in me.”
