James McPake throughly enjoyed his first taste of football Coventry City style.

Said the centre half, who signed from Livingston and had a solid game in the 2-1 win against Wolves, to the CT: "I feel great.

"First and foremost it is a great result for the team, especially in a local derby and against the top of the league, so we are all delighted with that. And from a personal point of view I was delighted to making a winning debut.

"I looked a bit shaky for the first 10 or 15 minutes but after that I felt I fitted in well and did OK.

"I enjoyed playing at the Ricoh for the first time and in front of a good crowd as well, and our fans were great - brilliant!

"My dad and brother came down, it's a great start to my Coventry career and long may that continue.

"I felt fine up against their front two, although I felt I needed an oxygen tank to help me breathe after the first 10 minutes.

"I think that was maybe a bit of excitement before the game and the adrenaline, but after that I felt fine against the two players and felt I did well enough.

"Someone like Chris Iwelumo is that big that you just have to get tight because you can't win the ball against him, so you try to win your fair share of challenges which I felt I did.

"I thought Ben Turner was great and I enjoyed playing alongside him. "I felt for him when they got the penalty at the end. It was a terrible injustice because it was a great tackle and I am sure the TV pictures will prove it.

"But it was a great save from our keeper and if that had gone in we would have been gutted because we didn't deserve to draw that game. "It was a terrible feeling when he gave the penalty, especially because I was close and had seen that it was a good tackle.

"But justice was done - I had a funny feeling that Westy might save it, so it was a great three points for the boys and everyone is delighted."

"I am looking forward to playing against Blackburn now, if selected. "I have just finished on the winning side against the league leaders and now I am looking forward to playing against a Premier League side in the FA Cup so it doesn't come much bigger than that, so I am buzzing.

"It is another test and I have just got to go and do my best and hopefully come out on top again."
