Hussey Needing Ankle Surgery

Coventry City defender Chris Hussey will play on for the rest of the season despite needing surgery on his left ankle.

Speaking to the CT's Andy Turner, Hussey who set up Gary McSheffrey for the opening goal last Saturday said: "I have got a bit of floating bone in my left ankle and I have got to have an op at the end of the season.

"I am just playing on with it but that might explain why I shanked my shot at one stage.

"But I have been playing with it for a while, since December, and it had gradually got worse because the bit of bone chipped off.

"It was my right foot that I damaged earlier in the season and that kept me out but I feel I have come back stronger and want to play a part in the last seven games.

"I want to do my bit for the cause. I felt I got forward well, set up the goal for Sheffs and got a few crosses in and had a couple of shots on Saturday, so hopefully I can keep doing that.

"The boys have been doing brilliant while I have been out. I have been on the bench for a few games and missed out on playing because they have been doing so well.

"But I'd love to be able to give the boys a boost by coming back to help out."
