Coventry City left back Chris Hussey, who moved to Crewe on loan until January a few days ago, has returned to Coventry to be assessed after picking up an injury.

The defender is being assessed at the club's Ryton training ground facility in an attempt to ascertain the extent of the injury and what treatment to give.

The nature of the injury is not yet known or how long he will be receiving treatment,, but it is hoped Hussey will be able to return to Gresty Road in the very near future.

Crewe boss Dario Gradi thinks that Hussey twisted his foot and told his club's website: "I think he twisted his foot when we were doing some 1V1's and it appears that he could have suffered a re-occurrence of the metatarsal injury which kept him out before.

"We are not sure if there was a crack but he will reassessed today by Coventry but if it is then it in unlikely he will be fit to play for us during his loan.

"It is a blow for him and for us, because he came here wanting to play and to get his career back on track after the injury. He was looking forward to it and wanted to get going again. He looked as though he would have fitted the bill.

"He had personality and drive and wanted to come here and do well, so it is disappointing but one of those unusual things."
