Coventry City manager Tony Mowbray has said he would like to bring in  three or four strikers as he continues to bolster his squad.

After Nick Proschwitz signed for German side Paderborn, Mpwbray is left with just one senior striker in his squad, Marcus Tudgay.

Mowbray insists there is no panic and is closing in on several targets. he told Andy Turner of the Coventry Telegraph: “I think at this level it’s a pretty common occurrence at this stage to be a bit thin on the ground,” said Mowbray, who is closing in on a number of targets.

“It was the same this time last year when the club had sold Callum Wilson and then had three loan players come the other way. But I have said all along, there’s no panic. We’re working on signing players.

“It’s never easy in June and yet here we are in July and the agents are starting to phone me and ask me what the options are and actually doing what agents do. They say they’ve had an offer from this club who are interested etc.

"We're waiting on a few things over the next day or two and we'll see."
