Hunt Could Be An Option - Mowbray

Coventry City manager Tony Mowbray has said that Stephen Hunt could be an option for the injured Chris Stokes.

Mowbray has Ryan Haynes on loan at Cambridge United and has so far not recalled him and is looking at other options to fill the void left by Chris Stokes.

That includes playing Stephen Hunt at left back and speaking to the Coventry Telegraph about the Irishman who has failed to impress the City support in his outings so far, the City boss said:  “I think the games he’s played, the ones he’s started, have not been particularly great games for us which hasn’t helped his cause but it wasn’t because of Stephen Hunt; the whole team didn’t function on those days.

“Stephen understands we’re not here to get him fit. That’s why he works so hard in training so that when a game comes along he can adapt to it.

“Let’s see what the weekend brings. I don’t want to give too much away because Swindon will ask lots of our team. They are a team that like to keep the ball, move it around and commit men forward and press on.

"They are a good side so it’s a different challenge from a lot of teams we’ve played.”
