Former Coventry City and West Bromwhich Albion striker Lee Hughes is being monitored every fifteen minutes by prison staff at Featherstone Jail according to reports in the national media.

Hughes, serving six years for causing the death of Douglas Graham by dangerous driving, is believed to be depressed over relationship problems. Reported to be earning £12k a week during his time at Highfield Road, Hughes now spends his time moping floors.

Meanwhile, former midfielder Lee Carsley who played in the same team as Lee Hughes is out of the Everton side for six weeks, needs a second knee operation after an earlier medial ligament injury had not properly healed.

Stern John's loan move to Derby County has not been well received by the Pride Park faithful. After John was accused of having a poor game in the 1-1 draw with Leicester City, Rams boss Phil Brown who himself is under fire said: "Stern was not fully fit when he came to us and we are trying to get him match fit. "He will, with support, become a goal scorer for this club. "I brought Stern John to the club, so blame me if you don't think he is good enough. I know Stern is good enough but it is down to match fitness and confidence. When they come back, the fans will see a different player. "There is a good player in there and he needs support."
