Former Coventry City forward Darren Huckerby proved he still had his shooting boots in the finals of the Selco Masters at the M.E.N. Arena in Manchester.

Huckerby, playing for Leeds had already scored eight goals in the Yorkshire Masters, and added to his tally with a goal in the 6-4 win over Liverpool in the Quarter-Final and a hat-trick in a 3-0 win against Manchester United in the Semi-Final.

Leeds met Rangers, who had put six past Watford and four past Notts County , in the final.

Rangers fielded former City goalkeeping coach Andy Dibble and were 3-0 up before Darren Huckerby scored , with ninety seconds of the first half remaining.

Hickerby scored again in the second half but his fourteenth goal of the competition which won him the golden boot didn't really matter as Rangers won 8-3 with Michael Mols the player of the Tournament.
