Hopefully We Can Take This Forwards - Simpson

Coventry City forward Robbie Simpson is hoping that City's 1-1 draw against Barnsley last night is a sign that the Sky Blues can take things forward.

The former Cambridge United man started up front with Freddie Eastwood last night and told the club website: "We started brightly and then conceded a goal against the run of play and we though 'here we go again'.

"I thought we played some decent stuff in the first half but we knew we had to be patient because Barnsley were clogging up the midfield and making it difficult for us.

"But in the second half they were only really looking to hit us on the break and we managed to keep some possession and when the board came up for five minutes of injury time I think it gave us and the crowd a bit of a lift.

"Getting a point like this doesn't feel like some sort of victory but it does feel like it's a step in the right direction so hopefully we can take this result and build on it for the last two games of the season."
