Chris Stokes has said that he hopes Coventry City manager Tony Mowbray can help him to further improve his game.

Stokes will sign a one year deal today with the option of another year and told Matt Joyce: “People don’t realise I hadn’t played for three months before I joined and thought I was fully fit. It isn’t an excuse, but I was nowhere near it! I got straight into it, playing Saturday Tuesday, thankfully I got through it adrenaline!

“Even when you go through the youth team or are close to retirement, you learn new things all the time from different coaches, it’s not as simple as finding the back of the net, there are different ways of doing so. I learned a lot with my short time with the gaffer, he took took my game to a different level more time in just a couple of months, so with a full season hopefully he can help me take my game on even further.”
