The first Secretary of the Coventry City Supporters Club and founder of the National Federation of Football Supporters Club was today remembered on the anniversary of his death.

Herbert Kendall died in Coventry on June 4th 1948, but today members of the Sky Blue Trust and Coventry City Supporters Club were on hand to pay tribute to a man who did so much for Coventry City supporters (and the club) as well as for football supporters from Exeter to Carlisle.

Lionel Bird, who had documented much of Kendall's work, in a time when communication and travel were a major task, in his book "The History Of Coventry City Supporters Club", laid a floral tribute on behalf of Coventry City supporters.

Kev Monks who is a Vice President of the Football Supporters Federation also laid a floral tribute on behalf of the premier football supporters organisation.
The prayers were said by Graham Whitehead, grandson of Herbert Kendall.
