The currently appointed referee for Coventry City's Championship fixture versus Newcastle United on Wednesday night is Grant Hegley.
Hailing from Hertfordshire, Mr Hegley started refereeing when his dad advised him to learn the laws of the game so he '' could speak from a position of strength' when speaking to referees during matches. He was promoted to The National List of Referees in 2001.
His last game was Dagenham's 5-2 home defeat to Aldershot on December 1st. That was his 18th match this season. He has shown only 15 yellow cards and no red.
His last visit to the Ricoh Arena was for the 0-0 draw against Preston North End in September 2008.
