Magnus Hedman has decided to retire from the game. The Swedish international keeper known by City by his flaps at corners made 84 appearances for the Sky Blues before moving to Celtic.

Life in Glasgow did not go well, with Hedman going to Italian side Ancona on loan. Always second or third choice keeper,he went on to make eight appearances for Celtic.

Announcing his retirement to Swedish television station TV4, he said: "I have lost my place in the Sweden side and the last two seasons have seen too many up-and-downs. "I've been thinking about it for the last eight or nine months so the decision has been coming."
