Adrian Heath said after City's 1-0 win against Luton Town: "The three lads that came on changed the game for us, they gave us a real fresh impetus.

"Sometimes it doesn't matter how you win or how you play, you just have to stop that losing cycle. "I think we have enough quality to get ourselves enough points, but the longer those defeats kept coming the more you think about it."

Derby County remain top of the league with a 1-0 win over Burnley. City's win over Luton was much needed as all three of the bottom sides won. Southend won 3-1 at Birmingham City, Leeds won 2-1 at Hull and Barnsley beat QPR 2-0. There were also wins for Wolves and Colchester.

Leamington lost their first game in 25 matches when they lost 2-0 at Stratford Town and Westfields beat Racing Club Warwick 1-0.

Atherstone Town went out of the Birmingham Senior Cup with a 1-0 defeat at Redditch United but Rugby Town progressed to the Errea Cup quarter-finals with a 2-1 win over Stourbridge who face Coventry City next Tuesday in a rearranged BSC Cup Quarter-Final.

Coventry Sphinx are through to the final of the Coventry Charity Cup to be played at the Ricoh Arena with a 2-0 win over Folly Lane at Allard Way. Chris Harris and Craig Martin scored the goals for Paul Charnley's side who must wait until next Tuesday to find out their opponents.
Massey Ferguson won 1-0 at Continental Star in a Birmingham Midweek Floodlit Cup whilst Stockingford lost 2-1 at Walsall Wood in a League Cup tie.
