Coventry City have announced that Adrian Heath has left Coventry City. The assistant manager was brought to the club by Peter Reid and took over from the Scouser as caretaker manager in January until Micky Adams was appointed.

Heath worked with Adams up to and including the tour of Ireland and has decided to take up a job as assistant manager at Derby County working with the new Rams boss Phil Brown. It is believed that the money saved from Heath's departure will be spent on some of the five players, Micky Adams wants to sign.

"I didn't know Micky too well before he joined the Club but we have developed a good working relationship and I am sorry to leave," said Heath to the club website.

"I've enjoyed my time at Coventry City immensely and have no doubts that the Club will do very well this season, especially with the players they have managed to sign along with the ones they retained in the summer. "I would love to see Coventry City be successful."
Micky Adams added: "We are obviously very disappointed to see Adrian leaving us. "I have worked very closely with him since arriving at Coventry and would like to thank him for his contribution during his time with us, including helping to keep the Club in the Championship. "The offer from Derby County was obviously too good to turn down and we wish him all the best."
