The currently appointed referee for Coventry City's Championship game at QPR on Sunday is Mark Haywood from West Yorkshire.

The father of four daughters, Mark started refereeing in 1993 after moaning at work to a colleague who was a referee about refereeing decisions he had seen over a weekend. He was eventually challenged to have a go and reached the National List of assistant referees in 2002. Four seasons later, he was promoted to the National List of Referees.

Mr Haywood has had 21 matches so far this season including seven Championship matches which also include QPR's 2-2 draw at Derby. His last game was on Monday night when he was in charge of the Brentford V Exeter JPT game. So far this season he has shown 36 yellow cards and one red.

His last City game was the 1-0 home defeat to Hartlepool in the League Cup in August 2009 and his only previous match was the 2-0 FA Cup home win over Kidderminster Harriers in January 2009.

The Assistants are Glenn Hambling from Norfolk & Harry Lennard from East Sussex. The Fourth Official is Darren Sheldrake from Surrey.
